Christmas Yoga Party

Hi dear Yogis,

We often practice kindness to self during our classes which is so important to work on to build confidence, love and inner strength. But this time there’s someone else we as a yoga community can help. This person is miles and miles away, is in real need but will never ask for help, and lacks the opportunities and privileges we have.

Please meet Sylvie Godfrey. She is 65 y.o, a widow and a mother of seven! She lives in Arusha, Tanzania, and has never had a day off work in her life. Sylvie lost her husband quite young and had to count on herself to raise her 7 children. Due to a complicated family situation she now has to take care of her 103 y.o. mother-in-law and support her two youngest children, who are unemployed, plus their spouses and their children (Sylvie’s grandchildren). That’s a lot of responsibilities and mouths to feed! I came across this amazing family during my unforgettable trip to Africa and I can assure you that people who are real gems are so humble that it’s easy to overlook them.

All of the profits from our last class of the term (Christmas Yoga Party) on December 15th in Slough will be donated to Sylvie who doesn’t know anything about it. So feel free to bring a friend or two who are happy to donate a few pounds for the good cause.

And thank you for spreading kindness and making a difference in someone else’s life this Christmas!
