ABOUT ASANTE YOGA

Namaste! I'm Anastasia and thank you for visiting this website - guess we have at least 1 thing in common - YOGA! 

 

I was born in Washington D.C. but was blessed to call a few places home at different points of my life: Moscow, Houston, Ho Chi Minh city, London and now Guildford. Combining two of my biggest passions - traveling and teaching - I was able to explore more than 40 countries around the world teaching children at schools as well as teaching yoga.

I have been practicing different styles of yoga for more than 12 years now. I got my yoga teacher certification in Mysore, India and have been a registered member of Yoga Alliance (USA) as well as Yoga Alliance Professionals (UK). Being also a certified Mindfulness educator I've been teaching it to children and adults as well as implementing certain techniques in my yoga classes.

Yoga helped me through a serious injury and maintains my mind clear and heart open for what life has to offer. I am truly excited to guide my students in achieving great health benefits through mindful yoga practice.

Asante yoga private 1:1 yoga class

We all have doubts in life. I see people who have them about yoga: about being a beginner, their body-image, not being flexible/strong enough to participate, aggravating old injury, not having time to commit, etc. The truth is that negative outlook creates a negative mindset. Instead, imagine at least one positive change or a goal you would want to achieve in a safe environment of a few same-minded people of your community.

​I am passionate about guiding you through your new feel-good journey and making you feel safe, welcome and confident. We get sweaty: in my classes everyone on the mat has their own goals they're working on. Because these group classes are small, I will be able to target your goals and adapt poses for you, adjusting alignment and explaining things along the way so that you know how to approach challenges step-by-step.

Relaxation is the crucial element of my yoga classes. Multiple scientific studies have proved that relaxation can decrease the secretion of cortisol, the primary stress hormone, as well as reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression. I use a variety of techniques including elements of aromatherapy, mindfulness and massage to relax your body and calm your mind in the final Savasana relaxation pose.
